I would like to point out that whole parts like the gauntlet, shoe, shin, thigh, bicep, handplate, shoulder and maybe some others only appear once in the template. Like this: b -> d It's a mirror image of the original. It just means to trace it on one side then turn the template over and use it on the opposite side to make another trace on the foam. I admit the "Flip x2" is a little confusing. Some of the edges will get cut off if you use anything other than US Letter, but honestly as long as you have the basic shape, you can guess the bit that gets cut off.

The 501st would continue to use these new armor sets in a limited capacity throughout the waning years of the war much to the dismay of the select troopers that were issued them.I used US Letter sized paper for mine, but you could probably use a4 just make sure to use the original image size when you print and don't convert it to a4 or it will shrink the template to fit the different paper. Despite the increased protection the new armor sets offered, the 501st Legion reported that the armor was more restrictive and uncomfortable than even the first phase I sets of armor issued to them years before. When the 501st Legion received a limited number of these experimental armor sets for trials in the field, the troopers issued them found them to be less desirable than their standard phase II Clone trooper armor. These armor sets were issued to select units within the GAR for trials in the field late in the war. The armor improved upon the phase II armor with enhanced protection against projectile and kinetic-based weapons aswell as increased protection against blaster bolts.

The new armor recycled pieces from the phase I and II armor sets and would become the foundation for what would later become the infamous Stormtrooper armor with the passing of the Galactic Republic and the introduction of the Galactic Empire.
